The National Scorpion Association organises racing events and events to promote the class every year. The Silver Scorpion Travellers' series of Open Meetings sponsored by CraftInsure are spread over the season and over the country. The annual highlight is the Scorpion National Championships which in 2026 are hosted by Looe SC in Cornwall.

Full entry is now open for the 2026 National Championship at Looe Sailing Club Sunday 2nd Aug to Friday 7th August 2026
The full entry fee is set at £325, these are reduced by the £20 pre-entry most people have already made.
At this stage we’re taking entries from those pre- entered. Looe have put a cap on boat numbers so get your entry in asap as we will look to fill the slots quickly and will open up entries to non pre- entries as soon as we think we can- we’ll let you all know how it goes.
As we continue to encourage youth, entry is:
£250 if either helm or crew is U21 £200 if either helm or crew is U18 £100 full U21 combo £25 full U18 combo
We also have limited number of Scorpion Foundation boats, available for the week for Youth Teams to race- please contact Steve or Chris to register your interest.
We’ve worked hard with Looe to pull together a great week of sailing and socialising and we’ve got a fabulous programme lined up. Five days’ worth of great sailing on and off the water coaching from tbc, a terrific social programme and it’s all based at one of our absolute favourite venues- Looe. If you haven’t been before, you’ll love it, and if you have, then you know!
We’re expecting a large turnout so best to get your entry in ASAP to secure your place.
This year we have an Online Official Notice Board Official Notice Board where you’ll find the NoR and link to enter on WebCollect. We’ll also use the Official Notice Board (ONB) to host relevant docs and info for the week (Tidal Info, Arrival info, Car parking info etc).
The 2026 Scorpion National Championship social programme will be released on the ONB in due course, but it is nearly there, from SHWAGs lunch to on and off-water coaching. Here’s a little teaser…
The week will kick off with the traditional commodore’s reception on Saturday evening, a great opportunity to get up to speed with the details of the week ahead, meet up with old friends and chat to new ones. Then on Sunday whilst the sailors head out to race, the SHWAGs will get their prosecco on!
But the week wouldn’t be complete without post-sailing snacks, Pro-Am drinks, games, good food and obviously the annual fancy dress party (theme to be announced)…
There’s also loads to do in the Looe area, as usual, we will put together information for days out and things to do. Access to and from the club will be managed to make it nice and straight forward. trailers can be stored at a nearby farm.
Here is a tourist web guide and here is another local Looe web guide but sadly the accommodation section has been discontinued - more details will follow in due course.
CAMPING: some of us are camping at the Ten Creeks Holiday Park a mile or so West of Looe, on the right side of the river for the main town car park. Please see their site here for more information.
More information will be added here when it is available.
